Naadam Festival Organization Committee meeting was held on the 1st of this month. Deputy Prime Minister of Mongolia and a head of the Committee M.Enkhbold met with the current situation of preparation and accomplishment of the Central stadium, Archery match place, Knucklebone’s shooting place and Khui Doloon Khudagt - horse racing places as well.
This year is the 2,220 year anniversary of the Khunnu Empire, 805th year anniversary of the Great Mongol Empire, 100th year anniversary of Mongolian Independence and the 90th year anniversary of People’s Revolution. Therefore, National Naadam Festival Organization Committee is preparing this year’s Naadam broadly compared with the previous years’ celebration. The Central Stadium has been arranging its seats up to 12,377 and all seats have been numbered. Furthermore, this year is the first year celebration of National Naadam after it has been listed into the Representative List of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, UNESCO. Deputy Prime Minister has mentioned that for introducing and advertising the national sports and for developing a standardization of the national sport, the winner's prizes of the Festival increased in each category respectively, for instance the winner’s monetary prize of national wrestling increased 10 times or 15 million MNT (approx. USD 12,000). Also, standardization for horse riding children was approved which says children must have a standardized uniform and horse tools. According to the standardization the Deputy Prime Minister gave a commission to S.Baasankhuu a Chairman of the Horse Racing Committee, Deputy Minister of Defense which says: “Not to register the racing horses if children were not wearing a helmet, chest protection, waistcoat, shoulder protection, knee protection and eye protection that all must comply with an international standard.” A head of maintenance and emporium section Ch.Bat introduced that 75% of maintenance of the Central Stadium has been completed and there are 4 big screens that will be located outside and inside of the Stadium. Also, other sectors such as archery and knucklebone’s shooting this year has been prepared well. About 400 million MNT has been spent for the archery area and “Eagle” TV channel will live broadcast the match, said the Government
