Mongolia to be an  independent on petroleum by 2015The ground breaking ceremony of the "Darkhan-Petroleum" oil refinery plant was held on October 23, 2011 in which attended the Speaker of State Great Khural (Parliament) of Mongolia D.Demberel, the Head of the Citizens' Representative Meeting of Darkhan-Uul aimag L.Gunchin, the Governor of Darkhan-Uul aimag G.Erdenebat, the Chairman of the State Structure's Standing Committee and MP J.Sukhbaatar, Chairman of the State Budget Standing Committee and MP D.Khayankhyarvaa and the Vice President of the Japanese Marubeni Corporation Shinji Kawai respectively.
The Mongolian consortium was established by the petroleum import companies “Just Group”, “Petrovis”, “Magnai Trade” and the “Mongol Sekiyu” companies which initiated the project; at the same time, Japanese "Marubeni" and "Toyo Engineering" Corporations are jointly responsible for the Feasibility Study and the Project Financing. The “Darkhan-Uul” oil refinery plant is planned to be built witha yearly capacity of 1.7 million ton liquid fuels; so that, the volume is sufficient to supply Mongolia’s demanded needs of gasoline, diesel fuel and aircraft kerosene with full scale on a yearly basis. The construction of the oil refinery plant will be built between the fiscal years of 2012 to 2015 accordingly.
