Brief interview from Mongolians who were in Japan when the
earthquake hits it on 11th of March, 2011. Mongolian Professional Boxer B.Batnasan – Even though I’ve been living in Japan many years, I’ve never seen such a disaster. At near my building gas station is burning, people fleeing their homes.
IT Engineer A.Ganbayar – Even after 2 hours after the initial quake, I still feel ground is shaking. The first time I saw 60 story building is swinging for about 2 hours. I really admire stability of Japanese buildings. Everyone from my work went to a park. We had been watching how the building swings.
Tourist agency worker B.Khurts – All phone communications are down and it was really difficult for me contact my wife and kids. Fortunately, internet is working, so I can contacted them. A bus service was offered from my company to transport workers to their home.
Engineer A.Badral - Our office is located at 25th floor. Lift was stopped, so people went down by stairs. There were so many people at the exit, so I had to jump down from 2nd floor. It felt so slow when I jumped and I saw people running. I’ve just realized how near the death was.
Professional fighter Esui – Actually, I had a schedule fight today. Due to the earthquake it was postponed. It is really horrifying.
