Currently 99 occurrences with AIDS have been registered in Mongolia
23 years have passed since December 1st, the designated date to celebrate as the day to combat AIDS. It has become a tradition for governmental and non-governmental organizations to hold promotions, campaigns against AIDS, introducing the deadly threat of the dangerous disease.  
In the frameworks of the World AIDS Day, the Student Union of the National University of Mongolia (NUM), Student Congress NGO and the Student Union of the Health Sciences University of Mongolia are organizing a free AIDS and STD test at the University halls. 
To date, there have been 99 occurrences registered in Mongolia officially. However, according to the studies of UN AIDS program and World Health Organization (WHO), there are around 500 HIV vectors in Mongolia. Over 90% of the registered vectors in Mongolia are between the ages of 20-45. Currently, there are no documentations of HIV contamination through blood, blood related products, hospital accounted contaminations and through the fetus. Today, 35 people have transferred into their AIDS stage and are receiving HIV treatment, whereas 13 people have died due to AIDS and accompanied diseases and 50 people are in their vector stages and are under medical monitoring, reported the National Center for Epidemiology.
