On December 17th, a Mongolian traditional wrestling match named after Dundgovi aimag was held at the Wrestling Palace of Mongolia among 256 young and military ranked wrestlers.  

Many strong wrestlers competed including the aimag’s Sharp Lion (title) Ch.Batchuluun, R.Purevdagva, B.Odgerel and O.Gantulga in this wrestling match, which had a magnificent start of 21 lamas chanting. The Dundgovi aimag’s Sharp Lion, a resident of Erdenedalai sum, A.Altankhuyag won first place, receiving a prize of 1.5 million MNT, where the aimag’s lion and resident of Bayanbulag sum of Bayankhongor aimag D.Enkhbat came in second, receiving 1 million MNT respectively. This wrestling was jointly organized by Dundgovi aimag’s City council, Governor’s Office, Mongolian National Wrestling Association and the Tusheet Khan Sports arena accordingly. During the competition, the Dundgovi native, the Director of the “Mon Uran” company, B.Narankhuu handed a gift to the wrestlers, who are raising the name of their aimag. A Toyota Land Cruiser 200 VX was gifted to the Mongolian State Hawk L.Purevjav and aimag’s Sharp Lion A.Altankhuyag respectively, where he expressed his gratitude to the spectator champions of the National Wrestling J.Munkhbat, Kh.Bayanmunkh, D.Tserentogtokh, B.Bat-Erdene, A.Sukhbat and S.Munkhbat, with a blue khadag (band of silk showing respect) along with 3 million MNT or approx. 2,200 USD respectively.
