
The last regular Cabinet meeting of the Rabbit Year was held on the day before the first day of the Tsagaan Sar Festival, February 21, 2012. The Government of Mongolia has decided to provide the civilians with law percentage of loan as 6% per year to obtain apartments as the issue was long awaited and finally has been approved during the meeting.
Within the scope of the decision, the necessary amount of the fund will be allocated by issuing bonds of the Development Bank worth up to 200 billion MNT accordingly. Also, the Minister for Finance has been permitted to issue the Government guarantee on the key payment on the bonds and its interest rates to provide the loan.
The
commercial banks will temporary grant the loan by its own until assignment of the bond by Development Bank. The regulation order on granting the loan with 6% per year for the period of 20 years to the civilians with law and medium incomes, was approved and signed by the Minister for Finance D.Khayankhyarvaa, the Minister for Roads, Transportation, Construction and Urban Development Ts.Dashdorj and the Governor of the Capital City and Mayor of Ulaanbaatar G.Munkhbayar in the Government Palace on February 21, 2012.
According to the regulation order, the applicant should be available to prepay the down payment, the 10% of the total sum, which is approximately a 5 million MNT and put forward the request application to the Apartment Finance Corporation. The apartment to lease should be in the list of "
Apartments for 100 thousand households" project, also the applicant has an authority to mortgage the requested property (apartment) and complete the loan prior the term.
