The former President of Mongolia N.Enkhbayar was taken into custody
This morning (around 06:00am, April 13, 2012), the third former President of Mongolia and Head of the Mongolian People's Revolutionary Party, Nambar ENKHBAYAR was arrested causing a sensation among Mongolian society.

The reason of the arrest was as stated by E.Amarbat, Head of the Investigative Department of the Independent Authority Against Corruption (IAAC) to the reporters, “He was under investigation by the IAAC suspected in a criminal case under the Law of Criminal Procedure. Despite this he was called several times through his lawyer to give a statement concerning the case, the former President N.Enkhbayar didn’t show up at once resulting such an arrest”.

The IAAC made an attempt to arrest him at around 08:00pm yesterday evening while he was outside of his father’s house but the attempt failed as the former President’s guardsmen (at that moment as the former President of Mongolia he was under the state special protection) and family members had interrupted the action. Hence N.Enkbayar succeeded to enter his father’s home, where members of the Mongolian People’s Revolutionary Party gathered outside of the house calling a conflict with the police forces protecting their leader. At around 06:00am this morning with additional forces of about 350 policemen and several commissioners from the IAAC, N.Enkhbayar was arrested forcibly and was taken into custody in the detention center of Tuv aimag.

The Mongolian People’s Revolutionary Party made an announcement (09:30am) to call a nationwide demonstration against the arrest of their leader at 02:00pm today on April 13, 2012.
