According to the Presidential Decree dated from April 14, 2010, the National Day of Tree Planting was announced to be organized on the second Saturday of May and October respectively of each year. Hence, this year the National Day for Tree Planting will be marked through the country on May 12, 2012.

Welcoming the Day, the Ministry of Nature, Environment and Tourism of Mongolia is to host a “Green City Campaign-2012” nature and environment public event at 12:00pm at the Builder's Square on May 11, Friday. The event is aimed at appealing to the public for protecting the environment and planting trees and exchange information and knowledge on planting trees. Besides, a fair trade of trees, bushes, shrubs, gardening tools and equipment and fertilization will be held in frames of the event.

The President of Mongolia Ts.Elbegdorj, the Minister for Nature, Environment and Tourism D.Tsogtbaatar and the Governor of the Capital City and Mayor of Ulaanbaatar G.Munkhbayar will attend the event.
