The Ministry of Health together with the Ministry of Nature, Environment and Tourism, the State Authority of Physical Culture and Sports and the Ulaanbaatar city Governor's Office hosted a public running to promote Mongolian athletes to participate spreading ones wings in London 2012 Summer Olympics and Paralympics was held on May 19, 2012.
A total of five thousand people from 8 year old youngsters to 80 year old elders have attended the public running under “Health - Priority Wealth”.
The Prime Minister of Mongolia and Chief of the National Committee for Olympic Preparation, S.Batbold also took part in the running with an aim to make himself fit and praise benefits of healthy living besides promoting Mongolian athletes
for the Olympics.
In his speech delivered at the opening of the running the Prime Minister appealed to the public to do sports and physical culture and cheer the Mongolian athletes for the Olympics noting a Mongolian proverb, “Healthy body holds of a clear mind”. Further the Prime Minister expressed his hope that our athletes are capable of proving and improving the achievements gained at the Beijing Olympics in 2008 celebrating Mongolia’s name at the world arena.
