Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of Mongolia is participating in the 68th session of UNESCAP
Mongolian delegation led by the Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade of Mongolia G.Tenger is participating in the 68th session of the Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP). Deputy Minister G.Tenger has met with the Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs of Laos A.Kittikhoun in Bangkok on May 21, 2012, where the two parties have exchanged thoughts on bilateral cooperation matters. 
During the meeting, Deputy Minister G.Tenger noted Mongolia’s interest to enhance cooperation with Laos on economic, trading and investment fields, and further stated that the Mongolian side is giving high significance in the intergovernmental commission meeting to be held in Ulaanbaatar in the second half of 2012.
Also, Deputy Minister G.Tenger expressed his position that Laos’s chairmanship of the Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM) in 2012 is a display of the active foreign policy by the Laos government, and conveyed his congratulations.
Deputy Minister G.Tenger also expressed gratitude to Laos for signing the multilateral agreement on establishing the International Research Center of Landlocked Developing Countries, and further stated, as the group leader, he is confident of active cooperation on the validation of this agreement.
Also on this day, the Mongolian Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade G.Tenger met with the Deputy Minister for Foreign Economic Relations, Investment and Trade of Uzbekistan B.Abdusamatov, where the sides exchanged thoughts on mutual relations of the two countries and confronting issues of landlocked developing countries.
During this meeting, Deputy Minister G.Tenger noted his concern on expanding relations with Uzbekistan, with which Mongolia has had traditional relations with, and said that he is looking forward for the Uzbekistan President Islam Karimov to realize the official visit invitation to Mongolia.
The ministerial segment of the 68th session of UNESCAP is being held on May 21-23, 2012, covering a ministerial round table on the theme of the 68th session, namely "Growing Together: Economic Integration for an Inclusive and Sustainable Asia-Pacific Century" on Monday, May 21, and a high-level panel on "Steering inclusive development amidst global turbulence and volatility" on Tuesday, May 22, 2012.
