Foreign Ambassadors to Mongolia handed their credentials
On May 29, 2012, the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Spain to Mongolia Eugenio Bregolat-Obiols, the Ambassador of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka to Mongolia Ranjit Uyangoda and the Ambassador of Republic of Azerbaijan to Mongolia, Latif Seif Addin presented their credentials to the President of Mongolia Ts.Elbegdorj. 
The President of Mongolia Ts.Elbegdorj received the foreign Ambassadors (non-resident) after the credential handing ceremony. 
At the meeting, “I first arrived in Mongolia back in 1978 while being an assistant to the late Juan Antonio Samaranch, the IOC President. Mongolia has greatly developed since that time”, recalled the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Spain to Mongolia Mr. Obiols and he promised to work for expanding the Mongolia-Spain diplomatic relations in all spheres. 
Mr. Obiols has been serving in Spain’s foreign mission since 1971 and has been appointed as an ambassador to Indonesia, People’s Republic of China, Canada and the Russian Federation. Mongolia established a diplomatic relation with Spain on July 05, 1977. Previously Mr. Obiols has been serving as a non resident Ambassador to Mongolia twice in 1992-1997 and in 1999-2003.

Meanwhile, the Ambassador of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka to Mongolia Mr. Uyangoda expressed his delight with presenting the credentials to the President of Mongolia emphasizing that the year of 2012 is the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the countries. "Our two friendly nations have ancient ties through Buddhist relations", said Mr. Uyangoda adding that  he would actively work to further deepen the long lasting Mongolia-Sril Lanka relations. 
The Ambassador Mr. Uyagonda has started working for the foreign affairs sector of Sri Lanka since 1985. From 1998 to 2003 he was twice appointed as the UN Deputy Permanent Representative of Sri Lanka residing in New York, USA and he was the Sri Lankan Ambassador and diplomatic representative to Malaysia, India, Canada and Japan. 
Mongolia and Sri Lanka established diplomatic relation on February 01,1962.

Further, the Ambassador of Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr. Latif Seif Addin voiced his gratitude to the President of Mongolia upon acceptance of his credentials adding that the two countries have strengthened friendly relations and partnership in all different spheres and expressed Azerbaijan’s interest in extensively cooperating in the fields of meat importing and oil sectors. The 20th anniversary of the establishment of bilateral diplomatic ties between the two countries will be marked this year in 2012. 
Mongolia and the Republic of Azerbaijan established diplomatic relation on April 16,1992.

In response to the speeches and gratitude of the foreign Ambassadors to Mongolia, the President Ts.Elbegdorj congratulated them in their new mission and noted that developing partnership in all aspects with these countries would be a priority for Mongolian foreign policy.
