The civil servants of state organizations are temporarily released from their duties
Upon the decree by the Prime Minister of Mongolia, the Governor of the Capital city and Mayor of Ulaanbaatar
G.Munkhbayar is temporarily released from his duty. According to the Election Law of Mongolia, it has been resolved to hold the 2012 Parliamentary and the Capital City Representative Khural Elections on the same day.
Due to the 24.4 article of the newly amended on Capital City Representative Khural Election Law approved by the State Great Khural (Parliament), “A current legitimate civil servant who is to participate in the Capital City Representative Khural Elections shall be temporally released from his assignment prior to be registered as a candidate”. Thus, under the above law the Mayor has temporarily given his duties to his First Executive B.Baatarzorig.
Meanwhile, 16 more civil servants of the capital city and other state governing organizations who are nominated to run for the
Capital City Representative Khural Elections are temporarily released from their assignments. Among them 7 civil servants are politicians, 8 are Chairmen of State and Capital city owned entities and 1 person is from a non-governmental organization.
