Marking the celebration of Children's Day in Mongolia (June 01), the President of Mongolia Ts.Elbegdorj released an edict to award mothers who have brought up many children with the "Famed Mother" order. Today, the President awarded and congratulated 21 mothers, who were representing the rest, with the "Famed Mother" order. 

The President congratulated and gave flower bouquets to each mother, and said “I would like to congratulate all the mothers that have come here today at the State Palace to receive their “Famed Mother” order on the occasion of Mother and Children’s Day. Also, I would like greet and wish all the best for all the mothers around our nation who are receiving their “Famed Mother” order this year. From all the great mothers, I would like to point out the 24 year old young mother Batzorig ZOLZAYA, mother of 4, and the 88 year old mother Dardar DULAMSUREN. As a President, I have proposed an appeal of “Mongolians, let us become many”. Now, I would like to send a warm congratulation and wish all the best to all the mothers, women, girls and all the children at the celebration of the Mother and Children’s Day to be marked tomorrow.”

According to the amendments made by the State Great Khural (Parliament), starting January of 2011, the requirements for the “Famed Mother” order were reduced, where a mother of 4 will receive the second grade order and a mother of 6 is to receive the first grade order. With the change of the criteria, a total of 130,000 mothers were awarded in 2011, and 12,480 mothers have currently received their orders this year.
