The President of Mongolia Ts.Elbegdorj, who participated in the 12th Shanghai Cooperation Organization Summit, held in Beijing, the People's Republic of China, on June 06-07, 2012, has held a meeting with the Paramount leader of the People's Republic of China (PRC), General Secretary of the Communist Party of China, Mr. Hu Jintao. 

During the meeting, Hu Jintao said, “I am glad to meet you again Mr. President. I am deeply grateful that you have come in person to participate in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Summit. I am happy for this opportunity to exchange thoughts on the relations of our two countries.”

Mongolian President Ts.Elbegdorj expressed his gratitude to the leader of PRC Hu Jintao for his invitation for a high level meeting, and further noted that PRC has made significant contributions in the successful procedure of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO). 

President Ts.Elbegdorj said, “I congratulate the People’s Republic of China for its successful accomplishment of heading the SCO in 2011-2012. Mongolia, as an observer country, is festive to the expansion of SCO range of activity, the solidification of arrangements and its growing international reputation. In the framework of SCO, Mongolia seeks to expand its cooperation with the PRC. Especially, I deem it is possible to implement infrastructure, energy and agriculture projects within the framework of SCO. The Mongolian side is satisfied that in recent years, Mongolia-China relations have expanded and developed in all sectors along with the deepening of political credence. I would like to note that the establishment of strategic partnership relations last year was a significant occurrence in the history of relations between the two countries. In 2012, the Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade, Minister for Finance and the Minister of Education, Culture and Science have made a visit to China from the Mongolian side, where the Minister for Health of China and the Vice Chairman of the Central Military Commission made a visit to Mongolia. On this occasion, I would like to note that Mongolia is welcome to receive the leader of the PRC and the Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress Wu Bang Guo.” 

The Leader of the PRC Hu Jintao said, “I would like to express my gratitude that your Excellency Mr. President deems the Mongolia-China relations to be of significance. Thank you for your invitation to myself and Chairman Wu Bang Guo’s invitation to visit Mongolia. The 2003 visit to Mongolia has left behind deep impressions. I once again express my gratitude for your visit to China.”

The President of Mongolia Ts.Elbegdorj expressed his gratitude to Hu Jintao for his perspective speech on the relations of the countries, and expressed his strong belief that with the effort of both countries the Mongolia-China relations and cooperation will expand and develop further more in the future.
