Mongolians residing in foreign countries gave their votes for 2012 Parliamentary ElectionsUnder the ordinance "Regulation on participation of an eligible voting citizen residing in a foreign country in which a diplomatic mission of Mongolia is located and voting procedures" jointly issued by the General Election Commission and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Mongolia on April 30, 2012, the 39 election sub commissions with 188 people employed, were formed at 39 diplomatic mission offices of Mongolia across the globe.
The eligible voting citizens residing in foreign countries were obliged to send notification on his/her participation in the election via post, e-mail, fax or in person to the 39 election sub commissions and get registered between  May 11 and 31, 2012. Accordingly, a total of 4,320 people have sent their request from which requests of 44 people had to be denied in connection with disqualification of his or hers documentations. Thus 4,276 citizens were officially registered to take part in the voting. The eligible voters gave their votes for the running 11 parties and 2 coalitions in person at the election sub commissions between 07:00 am and 10:00 pm local time on June 10, 2012. 
The polling procedure finished at 11:00 am Ulaanbaatar time (GMT +8) today on June 11, 2012. With the preliminary results, 64.8% of total registered eligible voting citizens residing in foreign countries or 2,777 citizens gave their votes.
