Over nine billion USD is required for the establishment of Sainshand Industrial Complex
The provision of the Sainshand Industrial Complex was discussed at the Cabinet meeting of June 25, 2012, where it was ratified the Master Plan of the Sainshand Industrial Complex to be built in
Dornogovi aimag.
Accordingly, the Sainshand Industrial Complex state owned company is to be established with the purpose of implementing the Master Plan, complex up building and daily activities of the project. Expenditures required for the general planning of the Complex, technical and economic rationales of infrastructure and social service installations and developing blueprints will be implemented by reflecting in the state and regional
budgets.
It was decided that draft legislation on making amendments to associate legislations with the purpose of setting a legal environment in support of investment and procedures of the complex and the draft legislation on making a decision reflecting to support the establishment of the complex by supporting with economic and tax policy, are to be discussed by the Cabinet meeting within the third quarter of this year.
The Sainshand Industrial Complex Master Plan contains 12 parts. According to the Plan, coke, copper liquation, pellet metal and concrete factories are to be constructed, where 12 million raw materials and over 7 million tons of processed products will be manufactured annually, thus a comprehensive
freight and transportation installation will be established as well. Over 10,000 job positions will emerge during the up building works of the Complex, whereas at the implementation stage, 2,400 permanent job positions will be created followed by a 21,000 populated new residency region. A total of 7,300 household apartments, 7 laboratories, 1 hospital and 5 kindergartens will be built as well. There are estimates that approximately 9.3 billion USD is required for the establishment of Sainshand Industrial Complex, reported the Press and Media Department of the Government of Mongolia.
Also, within the Cabinet meeting, the general planning of the new city that will be developed under the auspices of
the new airport to be built in Khushigt Valley of Tuv aimag, was discussed and ratified. The works of establishing the new airport are still underway, where it is planned to be completed by 2015. The new airport will be capable of landing 6 aircrafts at once and serving over 1 million 650 thousand passengers annually. Also, a new 100 thousand populated city is to be established relying upon the new airport with the purpose of providing a comfortable environment for the airport employees. This new city will have general development guidelines based on tourism, food, light
industry, renewable energy and information technology, where it will be a satellite city that develops agriculture, animal husbandry, meat production and construction material manufacturing, and is to be provided with reliable infrastructure with a friendly living environment.
