Another four Takhi or Przewalski's horses will be delivered from Czech Republic
According to the information sourced from a Czech radio, four Takhi mares are to be sent to Mongolia by a Czech air carrier on July 16, 2012.
The four Takhi mares are to be released into the Takhiin Tal (plain) in the Great Gobi B Strictly Protected Area, the territory of Bugat sum of Govi-Altai aimag.
Previously in 2011, Mongolia received four Takhi mares from the Prague Zoo, Czech Republic that were then set free in Khomyn Tal of Zavkhan aimag, where two of them delivered their foals.
In May of this year, four Takhi wild horses were brought from the Xinjiang Wild Horse Propagation Center, People’s Republic of China. Hereafter, the 4 mares from the Czech Republic will be mated with the 4 Przewalski's horses brought from China in order to increase the number of heads. As of today, the Great Gobi B Strictly Protected Area is inhabited with over 60 Takhi wild horses.
