Today on June 29, the President of Mongolia Ts.Elbegdorj received delegations from the Russian Federation led by Aleksander Porfiryevich Torshin, the First Deputy Chairman of the Council of Federation, of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation.
“We much appreciate your participation in our Parliamentary Elections of 2012 as an observer. Hereby I’m willing to hear your comments and opinions”, said the President Ts.Elbegdorj during the meeting.
In response, A.P.Torshin passed the Chairwoman of the Council of Federation Valentina Matviyenko’s greetings to the President Ts.Elbegdorj and mentioned that at their point of view of the
Parliamentary Elections of 2012 went smoothly and fairly.
“We have been working as observers for the elections in the Commonwealth of Independent States and some other countries. So far we haven’t seen any other elections as highly organized as this one, that is 100% provided with finger print detecting devices and electronic ballot counting machines. We worked as observers at 10 electoral sub commissions in the capital city, aimag centers and sum (administration unit of an aimag) centers. At seven o’clock in the morning on the Election Day, a long waiting line of voters for the polling has already been formed in several places. We much appreciate for the opportunity created for us, the
foreign observers to observe and monitor the polling. We haven’t seen any irregularities and contradictions. We also talked to and heard opinions of other foreign observers and found out that they were also holding the same opinions and impressions as we did. The polling went so smoothly and drove us to a conclusion that your election went considerably fair, abiding by state laws and regulations”, said First Deputy Chairman A.Torshin.
Further, the First Deputy Chairman of the Council of Federation A. P.Torshin voiced his wish for more intensifying of the bilateral relations and mutual cooperation of the two countries and his hope that the new
Parliament and Government of Mongolia would pay much attention on it.
“I’m much delighted to hear that the Parliamentary Elections of 2012 gave you positive impressions. I deem that your participation in our election is a true reflection of the importance that you attach to the relations of our two countries. Mongolia greatly signifies and pays much attention in strengthening relations and partnership with our northern neighbor. Russia stood with us when Mongolia declared its independence and during the great construction years. A new Parliament and New Government is about to be formed. The President will have specific roles in this forming. I want that the members of the new Parliament and the new Government to direct their attention in boosting bilateral relations in all aspects in traditional and new directions. I had a chance to meet with the President of the Russian Federation V.V.Putin during the
Shanghai Cooperation Organization meeting. I have sensed that the authorities of the Russian Federation are willing to jointly implement large scale projects. Once again I want to express my gratitude to you who have participated in our election as observers”, said the President Ts.Elbegdorj.
