Mongolians have been celebrating the honorary day for the Flag of Mongolia since 2008 annually on a day before the official opening of the
National Naadam Festival (July 11) in accordance with the Government resolution which was initiated by the Parliament members S.Byambatsogt and J.Sukhbaatar respectively.
Historically, the
design and symbolism of the present National Flag of Mongolia was originated during the socialist era and approved through the 43rd Conference of the People’s Republic of Mongolia on July 10, 1945 under the noticeable effort of Marshal Kh.Choibalsan. Since then, the day is considered as the birthday of the Flag of Mongolia.
Today, the military and ceremonial parades were held on Sukhbaatar’s Square starting at 10:00 am on July 10, 2012 with regard of the Honorary Day for the Flag of Mongolia. In which, the President of Mongolia and the Commander General of the Mongolian Armed Forces Ts.Elbegdorj, Prime Minister of Mongolia S.Batbold, Speaker of the State Great Khural (Parliament) D.Demberel, Minister for Defense of Mongolia J.Enkhbayar and officials of foreign diplomatic offices in Mongolia, as well as military servants of the Mongolian Armed Forces, cadets of the Military University, representatives from the General Authority for Border Protection, Home Affairs, General Authority for Implementing Court Decisions and National Emergency Management Agency, comprising over 2,000 personnel have attended the
Honorary Day for the Flag of Mongolia.
