Permanent Representative of Mongolia to the United Nations presents his credentials
The new
Permanent Representative of Mongolia to the United Nations, Od OCH, presented his credentials to UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon on August 08, 2012.
UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon congratulated the newly appointed Permanent Representative, wished success in further works and appreciated Mongolia’s contribution and support on multi cooperation.
Permanent Representative O.Och mentioned the 50th anniversary of the Mongolian
membership into the United Nations marked in 2011, where it was celebrated with abroad range of events such as an art performance,
photo exhibition, scientific conference, meetings, and moreover establishing diplomatic relations with several states of the world. Also, Permanent Representative O.Och introduced the frameworks to be implemented under Mongolia chairs the Community of Democracies in the years of 2011-2013, and invited the UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon to attend the Ministerial Conference of Community of Democracies to be organized in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia in 2013.
Until his latest appointment,
O.Och served as Foreign Policy Adviser to the Prime Minister of Mongolia from 2009 to May 2012. He was Director of the Administrative Department in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade from 2008 to 2009. Between 2004 and 2008, O.Och was a national protection officer with the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees.
