“Turkey implements various programs and projects in Mongolia through its “Turkish International Cooperation and Development Agency” (TIKA). Ulaanbaatar and Ankara cities have established friendly sister city ties therefore we are furnishing the Ankara Street on Baga Toiruu with our own funding”, noted the Turkish Ambassador Mustafa Sarnic
and asked the Mayor if there was any other projects that Turkey and Mongolia should be cooperating on.
“Ankara Street is one of the well furnished streets in UB that exactly meets the main road standards and requirements. I would happily attend the official opening of the street and surely we shall talk more on other potential partnership opportunities”, replied the Mayor E.Bat-Uul.
The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary from the Republic of Korea to Mongolia Lee Tae-ro
talked about friendly relations of the two capital cities and E-Government issues.
“We are grateful on numerous projects and programs carried out by the Korean Government towards Mongolia and Seoul city administration towards Ulaanbaatar
city. Our two cities hold extensive possibilities to cooperate in the fields of the construction sector. The General Plan of UB city is to be submitted to Parliament for approval in this autumn and the Plan would have a clause on intensifying collaboration with Seoul city”, said the Mayor further adding, “Korea is well advanced in E-Governance
practice, thus we need to learn from your experience and introduce the system in the Capital City administration. The Capital City Government shall be open and transparent to the public in all the aspects.”
