An ancient script from the IX Century AD has been discovered

The "Bichees" joint project team, compounding of the International Institute for the Study of Nomadic Civilizations (IISNC) and scientists from Japan, had an excavation in Uvurkhangai aimag on August 10-12, 2012. 

 

During this excavation, the rare finding had been discovered in Uvurkhangai aimag of the Phags-pa script or Square Script, which was a unified script for the literary languages of the Yuan Dynasty and Uyghur Mongolian Script records found from Zuunbayan-Ulaan sum, and an ancient Uyghur Mongolian Script record, found from Khujirt sum.
The IISNC has made preliminary determinations that the Square Script pertains to the XIII-XIV A.D. and the Uyghur Mongolian Script pertains to the IX A.D.
