The Democratic Party (DP) Executive Council held its meeting yesterday on August 16, where one of the issues discussed was appointing the new General Secretary of the DP.
Following the meeting, the Director of the Mongolian National Broadcaster Tsagaan OYUNDARI has been elected as an Acting General Secretary. Previously she has been nominated in the Party List from the DP for the 2012 Parliament Elections of Mongolia. DP members were satisfied with her performance during the advertisement and promotion campaign for the post elections and were deeming that her contribution to the DP’s victory in the election was of great proportion. She was in charge of the Democratic Party’s PR work
. Therefore, there were rumors among people that she was offered the Minister’s seat for Sports, Culture and Arts, but likely she preferred to be the General Secretary.
Currently, she is the Acting General Secretary position, but can potentially be promoted for General Secretary of what will be decided upon voting of 228 members of the Executive Council of the DP
