MP B.Bat-Erdene will run in the Presidential Election representing Mongolian People’s Party
The two-day lasting 7th Assembly meeting of the Mongolian People’s Party (MPP) concluded on Sunday, May 05, and on this day the Party made an official announcement on promoting its candidacy for the Presidential Election to be held on June 26, 2013.
 
Preliminarily three members of the MPP, also Members of the Parliament (MP) - U.Enkhtuvshin, B.Bat-Erdene and D.Oyunkhorol were discussed to run in the Presidential Election, but during the meeting the fourth MP D.Lundeejantsan, who was elected 6 times in the Parliament, was added in the list of candidates. The Saturday (May 04) meeting was continued till 02:00 am, where Mr. D.Lundeejantsan has collected 7% of votes, Ms. D.Oyunkhorol 12% and Mr. B.Bat-Erdene and Mr. U.Enkhtuvshin have tied with 41:41%, on the second poll they tied again and members conducted its third voting, where MP B.Bat-Erdene gained 9 votes more than MPP Chairman U.Enkhtuvshin.
 
Consequently, the Undefeatable State Grand Champion of Mongolian National Wrestling, who won 10 times in the State Naadam Festival, Hero of Labor of Mongolia Badmaanyambuu BAT-ERDENE will run in the Presidential Election. MP B.Bat-Erdene has been elected for his second term in the Parliament representing Khentii Aimag and would run against the current President Ts.Elbegdorj, however the Democratic Party has not officially been announced yet, but the DP authorities said to promote Ts.Elbegdorj, who first congratulated MP B.Bat-Erdene via his Twitter account.
