Minister of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia L.Bold
is attending the 20th Ministerial meeting of the ASEAN Regional Forum
in Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei on July 01-02, 2013. On the first day of the Forum, Minister L.Bold met with Foreign Ministers from the Philippines, Turkey, North Korea, Russia, Brunei, India, and Viet Nam in bilateral meetings.
During these meetings, the Minister briefly talked about the Presidential Election
that took place last week, the current situation of Mongolia’s politics
and commemorated the great opportunities the two countries have to develop their friendly relations and cooperation further and with each country, the Minister conversed easily and expressed his interest to cooperate closely in all sectors.
For instance, he discussed about Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russia Federation to visit Mongolia
within the preparation framework of the Prime Minister of Mongolia’s visit to Russia, establishing no-visa status for diplomatic and official passports for both Mongolia and Brunei, solving the civil matters with the Republic of the Philippines, develop program to expand cooperation with India, intensifying works to be implemented during the recent visit of the Prime Minister of Turkey to Mongolia, the initiative to include Ulaanbaatar talks in the Northeast Asia issue, and the Mongolian President’s planned visit to Viet Nam. Also during the meeting, Minister L.Bold briefly met with the Foreign Ministers of South Korea, New Zealand, Indonesia, Thailand, Australia, Singapore and Pakistan.
The counterparts noted the importance of these high-level visits and discussions for strengthening cooperation
and agreed to support all level visits and negotiations in the future. All sides expressed their willingness to provide opportunities, experience and interest for a mutual beneficial cooperation to strengthen bilateral relations and activate economic cooperation.
Minister L.Bold expressed Mongolia’s aspirations to cooperate closely with regional countries within the framework of its policy towards the Asia Pacific region
and to actively participate in the economic integration as well as its hard work to become an ASEAN agreement partner.
