Every Mongolian child grows up singing this song. City Council of Ulaanbaatar initiated the idea of building this statue, and with support of sponsoring companies, the statue was built on the west side of the Mongolian Children’s Palace. Sculptor B.Erdenebat designed the statue.
The opening ceremony of 55 years old “Mamuu naash ir” song’s statue was held on 1st of June, 2011. In the ceremony, People’s Artists, State Awarded Music Composer D.Luvsansharav, Deputy Prime Minister of Mongolia M.Enkhbold, Children’s Song Singer V.Dolgor, and Guitarist of “Kharanga” band Ts.Enkhmanlai and other people attended. Master of children’s song lyrics Ch.Lkhamsuren wrote “Maamuu naash ir’s” lyrics in 1956 and the music was composed by D.Luvsansharav.
