Infomongolia.com : Mongolia, Daily news, Information about Mongolia, Mongolian language lessonsThe first Mongolian woman who reached top of the Everest, B.Gangaamaa has returned on the 1st of June. She reached top of the Everest at 6.30 am on the 21st of May. 
She was greeted at the Chinggis Khaan International Airport by press and representatives from sports organizations. Minister of Health S.Lambaa congratulated for her success and presented “The Leading Official of Sports Sector” Government award. B.Gangaamaa held discussion with the Minister, shared her experience of seeing the World from its highest point and expressed her appreciation for the award and support from the Government and the Mongolian people. Currently, the President of Mongolia Ts.Elbegdorj is away from home, making an official visit to the Russian Federation. It became certain that once he returns home, he will award B.Gangaamaa with the “Merit Athlete” award. 
B.Gangaamaa has established “Ganga-Everest” foundation to support mountain climbers. She has been practicing in mountain climbing since 1989. In 2006, she had climbed Everest and when only 168m left to the top, her health condition dropped and she had to quit. Out of Mongolian climbers, G.Usukhbayar reached top of the Everest on May 30, 2005, for the first time.
