The IAAF World Championships Daegu 2011 is currently being held in Daegu city, South Korea and almost close to 6,000 athletes from 212 countries have been competing for 47 set medals and the Daegu’s key motto for the championships is "Clean Air for Sprint Together for Tomorrow". 

The 4th annual game "Mongolian ankle-bone shooting 2011" American Championship is going to be held in Sacramento, the capital city of the state of California, U.S. on September 4, 2011. 

E.Amartuvshin, the baritone and honored artist of the State Academic Theatre of Opera and Ballet of Mongolia has participated at the Queen Sonja International Music Competition that was held in Oslo, Norway between 16 and 26 August 2011. He was one of 15 selected to perform at the semi-finals.

FIFA (International Federation of Association Football) has released its August 2011 FIFA World Ranking on August 24, 2011 and Mongolia is positioned at 160th place which is the highest ever position of the country in the FIFA ranking system in terms of 43 countries being left behind. 

The 26th Summer Universiade Shenzhen 2011 was concluded today which is the largest ever World University Games with a remarkable number of participants of 10,000 (first ever in history) and the closing ceremony was held at the Window of the World theme park in Shenzhen, Guangdong province, China on August 24, 2011.

On the occasions of the 2,220th anniversary of the Khunnu Empire, the 805th anniversary of the Great Mongol Empire, the 100th anniversary of Mongolian Independence and the 90th anniversary of the People’s Revolution in Mongolia, the State Naadam Festival 2011 was celebrated widely. 

The 28th World Judo Championship-2011 is ongoing in Paris which started yesterday on August 23rd. This year 872 judo wrestlers (men 518 and women 354) in seven weight categories from 132 countries gather in Paris. 

The designers of the "Mongolian costumes" fashion centre will be hosting a theatrical fashion show titled "The secret history of the Mongolian costumes" on the occasions of the 2,220th anniversary of the Khunnu Empire, the 805th anniversary of the Great Mongol Empire, the 100th anniversary of the Mongolian Independence, and the 90th anniversary of the People’s Revolution in Mongolia. The show will be held at the State Philharmonic Hall on August 26, 2011. 

The President of International Olympic Committee, Doctor Jacques Rogge and his spouse Anne Rogge have landed in Mongolia’s capital Ulaanbaatar at 5:45am (Ulaanbaatar time) on August 23rd at the invitation of the Mongolian National Olympic Committee. 

The NHK Japanese Broadcasting Channel is planning to make a special introductory program about the Mongolian famous sumo wrestler Yokozuna Hakuho Davaajargal who strives to earn his 20th win from the Japanese Grand Sumo Tournament which will be held at Kokugikan Palace, Tokyo in this coming November 2011. 

From September 26th to October 1st, 2011 in the capital city of Buryatia will take place an Interregional Theatre Festival named "Altan Serge", which is included in the program of cultural activities of the Sochi Olympics - 2014. The Festival will be attended by troupers from Tatarstan, Khakassia, Moscow, Buryatia, Irkutsk Oblast, Kyrgyzstan and Mongolia. 

The national wrestling for all military personnel dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Ministry of Defense will be held at the military base of the armed forces, Tavan Tolgoi on September 7, 2011. 

"Miss Mongolia" association announced that Mongolian beauty contest "Miss Mongolia 2011" will take place in Ulaanbaatar starting from September 14, 2011.

An art exhibition by the legendary Nicholas Roerich titled "N.K.Roerich and Mongolia" is being held between August 8 and September 15 at the Fine Arts Zanabazar Museum for the special occasions of the 100th anniversary of Mongolian Independence, the 10th congress of International Mongolists and 85th anniversary of Roerich Central-Asian expedition’s first arrival in Mongolia. 

The 26th Summer Universiade Shenzhen 2011 is currently being held in Shenzhen, Guangdong province, China and the Mongolian Students’ Chess Team features with its sparkling success of World Champion-2010 among the rest of teams from 40 countries involved in the Universiade’s chess tournament under the Swiss System through individual and mixed team competitions.

Youth Sports Festival from East Asian countries will be held between September 5 and September 10 in Ulan-Ude, Republic of Buryatia, Russian Federation. 

Japanese public opinion Research Company "Central Research Services" has announced it’s most respected and favorite athletes on August 16, 2011. 

The 13th Mongolian Nation Wide Sports Festival will be held through 27 sports competition types with four stages for six months during the first half of the coming 2012 in accordance with the 32nd resolution of the Government of Mongolia in 2011, which focuses on developing active involvement of population in sports fields and increasing the skills and achievements of talented sportsmen to the world sports arena. The festival will be organized right before the London 2012 Olympic Games; therefore, will be the tentative contest for the Olympic Games fielding sportsmen of Mongolia. 

The world's best judo wrestlers are coming to compete in Buyant-Uhaa Sports Complex, Ulaanbaatar city on September 10 and 11. Athletes from 15 countries have confirmed to take part so far in "Chinggis Khan 2011" Judo World Cup which is going to be held for the third time. 

South Korean Kyung Hee University teachers have opened an art painting exhibition themed "The traditional painting of the Palace of Guulin settlement in the open plain steppe of Mongolia" at the Mongolian Art Gallery on August 16, 2011. 

The 26th Summer Universiade Shenzhen-2011 is currently being held in Shenzhen, Guangdong province, China and Mongolian judo wrestler O.Chinbat received a Silver medal on August 17th out of 28 wrestlers competed in the men’s 60kg weight categories. 

The opening ceremony of the 26th Summer Universiade in Shenzhen city of China was opened by the Paramount Leader of People’s Republic of China Hu Jintao on August 12. The summer games is held every two years for university students. 13,500 athletes from 21 countries are competing in 21 sports in the Games which will run till August 23, 2011. The Mongolian team consists of 157 athletes participating in 13 sports, and weightlifting and swimming athletes have started competing on August 14.

The launch of a new book "Wind of flower" by Inner Mongolian poet Ts.Tsolmon, The People's Republic of China, was held at "InterNom" bookstore, Ulaanbaatar on August 14, 2011. 

The 28th World Judo Championship-2011 will be held in Paris, French Republic between August 23 and August 28 and the Mongolian judo wrestling team consists of 23 wrestlers including fourteen wrestlers in the men's seven weight categories and nine wrestlers in the women's six weight categories, left for Paris on August 14th 2011.
